Leisa Buckner Principal
Leisa Buckner
Good Day Condra Cardinals, Parents and Staff,
It is my pleasure to serve you as principal this year! My name is Leisa Buckner, and this is my seventh year in educational leadership. Prior to becoming principal, I had many experiences including mentor teacher, lead diagnostician, special education director, and principal at other area schools. Even with this, I am always a teacher at heart, and taught for 18 years in Lubbock ISD and Southland ISD. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, a Master of Education from Wayland Baptist University, and completion of certification for Diagnostician from Texas Tech University. My modeling of pursuing lifelong learning is intended to be an example to students and teachers that we never stop learning. Learning is a part of life.
I am blessed with an awesome family. My husband Mike and I, who is also a diagnostician, have been married for 39 years. We have two children, Makenzy and Luke. Both graduated from Texas Tech, Makenzy is in sales for Carpet Tech, and Luke is a teacher/coach at Idalou ISD. Luke and his wife Shayna are the parents of our first grandchild, Baylor.
I always had the same expectations for them, as I do your children, because when they are at school, your children are my kids. I love them like they are my own children and push them to do well like they are my own children too. I want to see them excel and become productive human beings, who have ample opportunity to become whoever they want to be when they grow up. Therefore, it is my privilege to lead Condra School, and the many talented teachers and students here!
Thank you,
Mrs. Leisa Buckner, M.Ed.
Principal Diagnostician

I am the Outreach Coordinator for the Betty M. Condra School for Education Innovation. I am also the mother of 8 amazing children. Six of my children were a blessing through adoption. I founded a 501c3 that helps people with little or no means acquire hearing aids. In 2017 I completed my education as a Hearing Instrument specialist. I have spoken motivationally at conferences and I always wrap up with “one person can’t change the world, but if each of us would help one person, the world would change”.
Neely Byrum
Hello everybody - My name is Neely Byrum and I teach Kindergarten at The Condra School. I have a 5 yr old son named Paxton who also attends The Condra School. I love teaching children and enjoy seeing their little faces light up when they learn something new.
Josh Frye
I have been teaching for 13 years now. My passion is Special Education and have taught all ages and all subjects and all different types of students before. I always feel like there is something I do not understand so I find it very enjoyable to help students who also feel that way. I also love to play music and sing. I enjoy having many animals around of any kind. But most of all I like having something, anything to learn. The best feeling is that one I have when I learn there is something I do not know because I know I am about to get smarter.
